Riverside Academy West
In In April 2023, Creating Habitats for Pollinators (CHP) planted ~1,000 sq. ft. of wildflowers in the playground of the Riverside Academy West in Dearborn, MI.
Trash was removed and the area was sprayed and raked two times in March/April before seeding in late April.
Located in planting Zone 6, the seed mix included annual flowers like baby’s breath and poppies and perennial native plants like Butterfly Weed, Lance Leaf Coreopsis, Purple Prairie Clover, Red Columbine, Wild Lupine, and Blanket Flower.
The flowers began blooming in June 2023.
