Living and Learning Center

In April 2023, Creating Habitats for Pollinators (CHP) planted >25,000 sq. ft. (~ 1/2 acre) of wildflowers along a hillside at the campus of the Living and Learning Center in Northville, MI.

 The area was tilled two times in February and April before seeding. Two Mason Bee houses were also added in April.

Located in planting Zone 6, the seed mix included annual flowers like baby’s breath and poppies and perennial native plants like Butterfly Weed, Lance Leaf Coreopsis, Purple Prairie Clover, Red Columbine, Wild Lupine, and Blanket Flower.

The flowers began blooming in June 2023 (pictures below).
